Some of my customers that I guide have asked me to take them out of the area on fishing trips. The details and costs of the trip can vary greatly with the trip one has in mind. I have fished hundreds of lakes in my lifetime and have enjoyed them all. If you have any thoughts of a destination trip, I will be happy to discuss them with you.
Sherman Lake- Sherman is the closest lake to the Omaha area that has a consistently good walleye supply. The lake is also a good destination for crappie fishing. I have taken several trips with customers to the lake with mostly good success. Sherman is a three hour drive from Omaha.
Merritt Reservoir- Merritt is one of the most scenic lakes in the state of Nebraska. I have taken groups to Merritt a couple of times with good success. We mostly target walleye, pike and crappie and catch white bass, catfish and largemouth in the process. Merritt is a five hour drive from Omaha
South Dakota and Minnesota- I have taken trips to both states with customers. Some to lakes I have previously fished, some to lakes that I have never been on. For trips to these states, we target species not available in good numbers around Omaha: northern pike and smallmouth bass. Both states have many options with some very diverse fisheries.
Canada- I have been taking trips to lakes in Canada for over 40 years. I have been to some great drive-to lakes and I have been to some remote fly-in lakes where you are the only ones on the lake for a week. It is not unusual to land over 200 walleye per boat per day every day for a week. Canadian fishing trips are some of the most memorable trips I have ever taken. There is a certain ambiance to being the only group on a spectacular fishing lake for an entire week. I can teach a group all they need to know- from trip planning, to fish catching, to shore lunch on the lake. I have all the gear and experience needed for a great destination trip.
