Some of my customers that I guide have asked me to take them out of the area on fishing trips. The details and costs of the trip can vary greatly with the trip one has in mind. I have fished hundreds of lakes in my lifetime and have enjoyed them all. If you have any thoughts of a destination trip, I will be happy to discuss them with you.
Sherman Lake- I met a group at Sherman in June of 2017. The fishing was excellent. They caught walleye at the outstanding rate of 20 to 30 per hour with good numbers of walleye from 15 to 20 inches. The crappie fishing was also excellent with good numbers of 10 inch plus fish. I will be putting together trips to Sherman again in 2018. If interested, send me an email and I will coordinate the details with you.
Stockton Lake, Missouri- I experimented with a destination trip in 2014 by taking a group to Stockton Lake. I have a place for people to stay near Stockton Lake and have fished the lake enough to be comfortable taking groups there as a destination. Stockton Lake typically has very good numbers of bass, crappie and white bass lake along with good numbers of walleye. Our trip in 2014 was a great success.
Merritt Reservoir- I took a trip to Merritt with two customers in 2015. Merritt has a reputation as being one of the best lakes in the state of Nebraska and the lake was up to it's reputation. This was my first trip to Merritt and taking a trip with customers to a new lake can be challenging. Learning the location and bite in Merritt was a very rewarding experience for both my customers and myself. I hope to return to Merritt in the future for some more great fishing trips.
Calamus Reservoir- I met a group at Calamus in June, 2016. My only previous trip to Calamus was 25 years ago. The fishing was very good for white bass and walleye. I was impressed with the numbers and ease of catching fish. Unfortunately what happens often in Nebraska, the wind blows. Calamus offers no refuge to a hard wind. I hope to get more trips to Calamus in the future.
Canada- I have been taking trips to lakes in Canada for over 40 years. I have been to some great drive-to lakes and I have been to some remote fly-in lakes where you are the only ones on the lake for a week. It is not unusual to land over 200 walleye per boat per day every day for a week. Canadian fishing trips are some of the most memorable trips I have ever taken. There is a certain ambiance to being the only group on a spectacular fishing lake for an entire week. I can teach a group all they need to know- from trip planning, to fish catching, to shore lunch on the lake. I have all the gear and experience needed for a great destination trip.
